Want to live in a super modern villa but you are also very concerned about the safety of your family? Most people think you can't really have both of them at the same time but that you have to sacrifice either safety or comfort. They are all wrong...Maybe not all of them because the house which is super safe and modern can be very costly but it is by all means possible.
One on them is located on the outskirts of Warsaw, Poland. It was designed by an excellent polish architect Robert Konieczny who was awarded many times in prestige competitions like Wallpaper Design Award 2017 which he won with his own house. This house tho is different as it is supposed to serve two functions to people living in it. The first one is being comfortable and good looking. It has got everything you can think of when you imagine a villa. It has got a huge windows so the interior is very light and you almost don't need any artificial light sources during the day. During the evening it looks very classy and stylish. It has got even a pool so you can easily call it luxurious.

This is how it looks. It's a bridge that can be lifted so nobody can access the house. When you see it you start to think that this may not be a regular home. And you are right. This is where its coolest aspect comes to live. The house can close up and open its walls. The innovation of this idea consists in the interference of the movable walls with the urban structure of the plot. Consequently, when the house is closed the safe zone is limited to the house's outline. In the daytime, as a result of the walls opening, it extends to the garden surrounding the house. When it's closed it becomes a real fortress. It goes kind of like this:
The southern elevation is closed by an enormous gate of 14 and 6 meters. It is made with white anodized aluminum which makes it possible to function as a movie projection screen. All the movable elements are based on built-in electronic engines, that guarantee safe operation. It doesn't close just for the safety but also to better use the energy it gained during the day through its solar panels and mechanical ventilation. Every morning it opens up automatically and closes up after dusk. It's a really interesting building and surely one of the most iconic houses in Poland. If you would like to learn something more about this incredible piece of architecture I leave here the link to the video in which Robert Konieczny talks about his work because who knows it better than it creator.
This certainly is an interesting ultra-modern minimalist building. It would be nice if more family houses in Poland looked like this instead of the prevailingly ugly building people erect. However, let me remind you that your word limit was 200 words.
OdpowiedzUsuńIt was not a big problem for me that it was "a bit" too long as it was not boring. i actually learned sth intreasting about modern architecture. coming back to your topic, don't you think that it is not really good when everything is based on computers? These days things like hacking are more and more developed. It looks safe but sometimes strong metal doors can be better than stronger but electrical metal doors. what do you think about it?
OdpowiedzUsuńYou have a point there. There is always possibility of someone hacking and opening dors with no problem but if we use very good security system I think we are good.

UsuńIt has to be a strange feeling to close yourself into a metal can. What if something brake or as Filip said computers will be hacked and you will be stuck inside of it. Is there a chance to give sb who is close inside a food or things necessary for life?
OdpowiedzUsuńI do not think it is possible to be honest but you could somehow open it mannualy I suppose.
